It's hot.
2009 Chteau Jean-Pierre Gaussen Bandol Ros - Real wine. Wide open, big, peachy/fleshy, rich, rustic, sauvage; interesting almond extract note on the finish. Very nice.
2009 Domaine Ilarria Iroulguy Ros - biodynamic. Austere and structured, though it's quite big-boned. Dusty rocks, leafiness, tiny dark red fruits with some tartness, excellent cut, and a beautiful tannic structure. The funky/earthy Iroulguy terroir is unmistakable. Drank alongside the Gaussen; huge contrast in styles (like, from different galaxies). Best ros I've had this year.
2009 Ambra Carmignano Vin Ruspo Rosato - Kool Aid. Cheap but still not worth it.
2000 R. Lpez de Heredia Rioja Rosado Gran Reserva Via Tondonia - a miracle in a bottle. 100% pure umami.
2009 L'Estandon Ctes de Provence Ros - textbook Provencal ros. Same as it ever was despite the new label, and that's a good thing.
2009 Chteau Pradeaux Bandol Ros - big and complex, really excelllent stuff, probably a good ager.
2009 Bodegas Gurrutxaga Bizkaiko Txakolina - Ultra light and refreshing, incisively austere but with pleasant grassiness.
2009 La Bastide Blanche Bandol Ros - Big and fleshy and rich, decadent really. I prefer more cut but sometimes these Bandol ross are just large. Probably needs time.
2009 Domaine Bernard Baudry Chinon Ros - you guys already know about this one. Buy lots.
