The Beast burned me, twice

The Mme and I moved a few months back and are remodeling the new kitchen. We just installed a Blue Star RNB, the one with the 22k BTU burners.

This little fucker is HOT. Saute pans warm up to sear temp in about a minute, or less. I managed to get two 2nd degree burns in two days, one off a saute pan and one off a knob when I was heating up the oven with an open door.

I tend to not like to name things, but in this case it's: The Beast.

Fun fun FUN!
 
Oven mitts suck.

Is that what you mean?

Or maybe I should just use them whilst using The Beast.

I had my eye on one of those for the Chateauneuf. But I decided to try the jobbie that the developer had installed, and it was OK, so i never got there.

Not sure if I wish I'd gone all the way or not.
