Expect some new faces- The Parker/Squire's Board goes subscription only

This wasn't a PR decision. This was done to: 1) Hide the decline of the board. 2) Have less complainers to deal with.

    Jura April 2010...now with fotos

Great post! Btw, my visit to Jean-Paul Genet, two-years ago, was true 2-star quality...beat all of the Beaune meals. (But all restaurants have the fair, good and great days.)

Schildknecht's ranking of Loire chenin producers

The Clos Rougeard Saumur Brz is easily one of the best; strange not to see it there. I had the 1997 a year and a half ago, and it was excellent (and still young).

    The Next Big Thing?

"That said, there is a lot of ambition on the Canadian wine scene and I've seen plenty of, shall we say, aspirational pricing..." Aspirational pricing? Not the white wines of BC, where most of the wineries are. You can't find a white priced outside the $15-$25 retail range. ------------------...

    Clos Rougeard at the tgjp

First, I pick up the lot and the 2003s aren't there; some other wine is there instead. :( Second, I agree with you Levi - the 1996 I previously had was a wine that needed to be drunk soon. However, the 1997 Brz is a wine that is still very young and has 15-20 years of life, if not more.

    Clos Rougeard at the tgjp

I'm a great fan of the 2003 Les Poyeux - well, the one bottle I've had was the best CR bottle I've had... ...and I now have 5 more of them: I was the winner of that lot of 35 bottles of Clos Rougeard (1996, 1999-2003) at Bonhams' this past Saturday. At last I feel I can drink them when I want...

Wine geek foodie nirvana in SF?

Acquerello Restaurant is my pick. I've only been there once, but it was really great - the food and the wine service.
