TN: Mostly Chateauneuf-du-Pape at Dinosaur BBQ.

I think you're being generous with that 03 Sabon, I tried it a few times then dumped it out. To me, it was more like Amarone della Rhone than Chateauneuf. Bleh. Again, thank the vintage. There was a weird minty thing on the Fonsalette which was really distracting, and I think that's what Brad is...

    Chambers Bash

I find that once one accepts the fact that Kane is the reincarnation of a slightly deranged blind drunken New Delhi taxi driver, a certain Zen-like calm descends as one accepts the inevitability of one's demise. Drinking heavily beforehand helps too.

    TN: 2/26/09 Eleven Madison Park

The 1969 Dom Perignon was my favorite wine at our table. To me it was just stunning, I kept it in the glass, fending off the advances of the more greedy gremlins who had already emptied theirs. It really opened and developped over time, a real beauty and something special. I have to agree...

    Tuesday Night Wines

Jay, I don't have much experience with Drouhin in 1990 but I have to say they hit a home run with this wine. It was stunning.

TN: Vague reminiscenses of Montevertine, Jadot, LeClerc and few others

They allow both white and red grapes in the Somethingorother vineyard? Do the folks over at the INAO know this?

    Tuesday Night Wines

A friend and I decided to have our monthly meeting of the minds and palates at a little neighborhood place with an amazing wine list. Why? Because it was Tuesday, of course. The food was absolutely spot-on fantastic. As we sat down, a glass of NV Pierre Peters Blanc de Blancs was proffered...

    CWD : 1985 Pepe Montepulciano

I really like this wine, though in my experience the bottle variation is quite extreme. Some are so poopy you just want to wrap them up in diapers and toss them at your noisy neighbors. Others are glorious. Go figure.

    Rhone Varieties in FL

Yeah, the Janasse kept changing in the glass, it was really enjoyable to watch evolve. That said, it's still young and needs some serious time before becoming a real mature beauty.

    Rhone Varieties in FL

For some reason, I've been opening some Rhone varieties in the past few days. Not that I don't like the Rhone or its wines, it's just that the past couple of nights have seen these bottles popped. Maybe it's the relatively cooler weather in FL lately, or just that I am running out of Burgundy...

Scallops and Rully Les Saint Jacques

Jim, not surprisingly I am running low on whites, so I might have to pop down to Wine Warehouse this weekend and restock. Life's tough... ;->

Scallops and Rully Les Saint Jacques

Funny, I almost grabbed Les Clous but the guy said the Rully would be more to my liking (less oak).

Scallops and Rully Les Saint Jacques

OK, so it's a cheap tongue-in-cheek play on words. Tonight, being in FL and right by the ocean, I picked up some fantastic-looking (and eventually tasting) scallops. I also happened upon a bottle of 2004 de Villaine Rully Les Saint Jacques. Apparently de Villaine flooded FL with his wines...
