    Suddenly Italy

In Venezia: Covino is excellent. Prix fix with choices, natural list (had a great Pinerolese). Etro is good. Corte Sconta is cool place near Asensle. In Firenze: La Giostra was killer, but that was 8 yrs ago. Haven’t been back. The Rialto fish market was pretty cool.

I guess it's official now (ESJ)

Best wishes and thank you for making wines that made a difference. I was lucky to try some of the 90s Syrahs, well aged. They were magical.

TNs: Loire Valley-Some good wines with age

The bottle may not have been the best representation. I have no idea, it was a tad flat (dumb?). And I love the '08s, but I'm more a sec fan then demi.

TNs: Loire Valley-Some good wines with age

The EWG met to sample some Loire wines last weekend at Otoño. Great night of food, wine and company. 2009 Domaine Huet Vouvray Pétillant Réserve Brut - France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Vouvray Pétillant (8/27/2023) I’ve had this wine a few times, notably at the domain in 2019 and bought a few...

    RIP Stanko Radikon

I've been seeing reports of his death. I'm deeply saddened and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Friuli has lost a tremendous force.

2009 Foillard Morgon Cote du Py

'09 Brun Brouilly is gorgeously glugable. If you find this wine sweet, I suspect pickles aren't your thing either.

    Sforzato

The '04 is also a beautiful creature.

He was the best of the best

Simply shocked. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. A profound loss.

    Blink and they're gone.

    Well, that was unexpected.

    Blink and they're gone.

I was just gifted a bottle of S. Maria al Monte. Is neat the preferred method? Temperature?

Thanks for the '78 update. Mine is queued for a Dec christening.

    Mr. Brezeme: Question?

Thanks Eric. After web browsing your '10 CdR (and purchasing a reasonable parcel), I stumbled on the Tanzer publication's review indicating 100% Grenache (by Mr. Josh Raynolds). Not sure how he/they concluded that based on your response.

    '02 Le Mont Sec

I have .375ml of LHL. Not sure when I'll open it though. But your note reminds me of similar behavior with N & S Rhone whites. I recall a 1987 Beaucastel Rousanne (no VV bottled back then) that behaved similarly.

    Mr. Brezeme: Question?

Right, however, Josh Raynolds indicated 100% in 2010, thus my query. And "at least" is not very precise.

    Mr. Brezeme: Question?

Exactly how much Grenache is in the '10 Cotes du Rhone?
