    Well, this is new!

It's nice to know this forum will remain with us for a long time to come. Thanks Jeff for the successful migration.

    Posting lost in transition

I would probably just repost it Pete. A posting I made last night also disappeared. I think it is just a by-product of the migration

TN: The Virtual Tasting #58 (March 23, 2026)

Thanks for the report Jeff. I got a '96 Christoffel ET Kabinett. I'm hoping it turns out as well as the Auslese***.

    Assorted TNs (February 2026)

Yeah, it is a terrific wine. I also hear good thing about Castello di Verduno's Pelaverga as well. A really nice variety.

    Assorted TNs (February 2026)

Yeah, the '19 was probably very far from being ready. But, even the '17 seemed a little heavy handed for me (though other people at the table loved it)

    Assorted TNs (February 2026)

Yes, it was an event-packed February. This past month has been lighter and I imagine April will be lighter still. I think winter and the post-holiday get-togethers (plus Chinese New Year celebrations) always make the social calendar a little busier. I'm looking forward to more outdoors...

    Assorted TNs (February 2026)

Champagne NV Valentin Leflaive Champagne Grand Cru Le Mesnil 15 50 Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut: This had a really beautiful, lifted, oxidative nose of lemons, sea spray, chalk, brioche, and hazelnuts. The palate reminded me of a sous voile Jura Chardonnay, with nutty, caramelly, oxidative...

Semi-OT: wines served at Masters dinner

This is better than what Bubba Watson did twice for the champions dinner (though that is a low bar).

    Looking forward to your note!

    St. Julien TNs -- 2/26/26

The '90s were interesting. At the St. Julien lunch, someone who had the 90s LB and LLC several times before noted that both seemed to show less well than they did in the past. It could be a bottle-by-bottle thing, though he was wondering whether this might be a factor of '90s just losing a step...

    St. Julien TNs -- 2/26/26

Yeah, I randomly went to a couple of events that had '75s, so it prompted me to ask about other people's experiences in the other thread. It was good to get confirmation from other folks that the '75s I've had lately were showing well in general!

    St. Julien TNs -- 2/26/26

Some bonus wines below: 2021 Beta Chardonnay Placida Vineyard: The aperitif before we started the St. Julien wines. Beautiful, powerful nose of florals and lemons. The palate has the feral edginess of a Jura Chardonnay with plenty of bright citrus, herbs, and salinity, with perhaps a bit more...

    Seeking Thoughts on 1975 Bordeaux

VCC is fantastic. 1998 and 2000 VCC are both phenomenal wines. (I also really liked '98 La Conseillante; I've enjoyed the 1998 Pomerols I have come across. For some reason, though, the bottle of 1998 Figeac didn't really do it for me. Might have been an awkward bottle).

    Seeking Thoughts on 1975 Bordeaux

Sounds delicious. I've actually never had Trotanoy. Need to remedy that one day (and pursue some '75 Right Banks as well)
