    Some Wines Opened in 2022

Y'all inspired me to open the '09 Foillard last night ('09 Beaujolais being one Disorderly topic that will never die). The first thing I noticed is that it's Imported by Kermit Lynch (man, that was a great thread). It's hard to be too mad about drinking it - the fruit is apparent, pretty...

    Random Wines w/dinner (menu)

What will the Seventh of April Club be doing, say, tomorrow?

TN: The Penultimate Pour, or Next-to-Last Call at Racines (July 29, 2021)

Delighted by the return of Obese-Wan-Kenobi.

    winereactionsarethenewtrend

I went in for all the Dupasquier when SM had the email list. I've had some smoking bottles of the Deuse over the years - 02 and 10 have been standouts for me. OTOH, an 05 at Thanksgiving was vegetal / green and much more agreeable to the corpulent washbasin. I've sat on the pinot and gamay...

    TN: new notes September

I miss the traditional welcome wagon very much. Nothing lasts forever, I guess. Unrelated, is it true there are other wine boreds, and, if so, what purpose do they serve?

    Impressions August 2020, Part III

Great notes, Nathan, but it would be nice if you could consolidate them into one post. Like many others here I adore Briords, but I have also struggled with '18. Seems uncharacteristic (and currently unappealing) to me. Vintage, I know. Ian, I drank '09 Cot a couple weeks ago. I can't...

    Some of the chenin

I thank my lucky stars for Pinon. Me and some other Chicago nerds were just discussing how Chenin from a bunch of folks we've never heard of suddenly costs $60, $70, $80. No one is quite sure how that happened. No so with Pinon, thankfully.

    Impressions August 2020, Part II

I've been pleased with Ardoisières when I can find it. Probably not in the bargain category for me though. Schiste is lights out good.

    Impressions July 2020

Latuchie! I'll pile on - I love the notes and I'm able to read and process information in long-form (or at least I'm not bothered by it). Don't repeat this, but for me, Brun might be the last real value in Beaujolais. So good and so cheap (even in vintages that I don't typically enjoy, like...

TN: Store Notes (March 5, 2020)

Jeff, A sincere thanks for keeping the conversation alive around here. This bored would be all the more so without you. A recent hit for me was '18 Baudry Rose - I was pretty concerned about the heft of it on release, but a bottle this week seemed much more nimble (perhaps it benefitted by...

CWD: 2014 Marcel Lapierre Morgon “S”

Thanks for writing, Mark. I think I'm going to slot this in at Thanksgiving. I have come to believe that I have sat on too much Lapierre for too long, but here's hoping I'm wrong.

Some Cru Beaujolais with a Few Years

Thanks for the notes, Ian. Not too long ago I wondered why I don't hear or read more about Tete. I opened an '05 a couple years ago that pleased me. Your '09 Foillard is right beside Joe D's Mollydooker notes, I believe.

    2015 Clisson

To Lee's comment, I recall Levi wrote some time ago that rose is the best choice for salmon (my take away anyway). That stuck with me, and I have stuck to it with good results. I have yet to find a red match that I'm all that excited about.

Last night I drank some wine

So dead here. It's either this or a cooling unit discussion. I certainly appreciate Florida Jim's comment - seems that I routinely think differently as I age. I like to think that's a sign of progress and evolution, but it probably precludes a run for public office. Does anybody know a burg...

G Barthod 2008 Bourgogne 'Bons Batons'

Thanks for posting on this, Karen. I think I have a solitary bottle knocking about. I had the '16 iteration recently, and I can see similarities in what you wrote about '08. The '16 benefited from some attention and analysis, but was plenty enjoyable.
