    Loire & Bordeaux Recommendations

Excited to visit the Loire Valley for my first time in June, and I've been searching past threads for Loire restaurant/wine bar/shop recommendations to no avail (minus some posts mentioning Domaine de Hauts de Loire, which is a little out of my price range). Any can't-miss spots along my trek...

Many great suggestions. I thank you all. I'll be staying in the Oristano area three nights and Cagliari for one. Will report back.

    Sardinia

Hey Levi! Yeah, it's the GP you know. Thanks for your suggestions (and thanks to Robert as well)! I live in the Bay Area and La Ciccia is my very favorite restaurant. Massimo and Lorella have given me a few suggestions, but I thought I'd hit up the Disorderlies as well. I'm in an Italian 2...

    Sardinia

I'll be visiting Sardinia in March and I'm wondering if there are any "can't miss" growers to taste with. Contini is already on my list, and maybe Argiolas... Many thanks!

    Loire sauvignon blanc-semillon blends?

Do Terry and Frances receive visitors at Kalin Cellars? If you happen to find yourself in Sacramento, (for some god-awful reason) Corti Brothers has several vintages of Tyrrell Semillon...some from the 80's, if I remember correctly.

Marc Pesnot, Jamet, Raveneau, Montesquiou, Cornelissen

It looks like Rare Wine Co. is selling a few 08's from Raveneau already.

Four Courses of Foraged Mushrooms & Wine

LDM Import and not as "Pinot-like" as I've read, though one of the more beautiful Schiavas I've encountered. Got this one at Arlequin about an hour before you poured your wine down there, Jim. Bummed to have missed ya.

Four Courses of Foraged Mushrooms & Wine

Spent Thanksgiving roaming the Sonoma Coast and was blessed with an abundance of Mushrooms. Cooked with our neighbors last night and this is what it looked like: Deep Fried Oyster Mushrooms w/ 07 Gahier 'Le Crets' Oyster Mushrooms truly taste better from a tree than in cultivated form. This...

    Languedoc Tasting

I was intrigued to find that they used to grow Cabernet Sauvignon in Baux de Provence, pre-phylloxera. Anybody have any experience with other Cab production down that way?

    Languedoc Tasting

I just don't seem to drink enough Languedoc wines, but that was remedied last night after a Languedoc-themed tasting. There were some gems and some that showed terribly. Here is my rundown (all wines first served blind): 10 Creyssels Picpoul de Pinet - Picpoul from right on the ocean, pied de...

Excellent old Tempier and Verset; Cowan Isa shows well too

The 09 Ryme Ribolla is my personal favorite Cali skin-fermented wine (thus far). Jim, I'm quite excited to try your un-orange, orange wine!

Didn't expect to find these already

Only spotted some Suillus so far. Supposedly there are some Matsutakes out though, but I didn't see 'em.
