    Thanks, everyone, for the advice. I've checked out a number of the suggestions and the results are...disheartening. The selection is usually 70% Bordeaux; non-French wines occupy about 10% of the shelves. And there are very, very few top producers from "minor" regions like the Loire and Germany...

    Seattle dining recs.

    You should absolutely eat at Tilth. Despite the rave reviews for many Seattle restaurants, I find most of them a bit amateurish here and there (compared to NY, say). Tilth, though, is a class act; and the food is wonderful. Have fun, Mike
