    It's Thanksgiving in the US.

2014 Chevalerie Bretêche 2021 Thillardon Chenas Vibration 2019 Pinon 19 Vouvray Brut Wonderful accompaniments to a huge spread of veggie dishes and some slightly overdone (MR-Med) magrets. Firing 12 at once in a tiny kitchen was maybe more than I should have signed up for.

Anyone around in NYC on Black Friday?

Crap, didn't check this after no one responded. Think we are spoken for on Friday now. Now that we are in DC, I should be available for fun more often.

Going to be up visiting the wife's fam & can get away Friday day or evening for whatever.

    Moving to the DMV

We'll have enough basement space that I could make on-site storage work, but this is likely only a 5-6 year house for us. Doesn't seem worth the investment to build out custom storage when have a decent-sized cabinet.

    Moving to the DMV

Hi Cole, glad to know you, Maureen, et al are still in the area. Will be very nice to remake some old acquaintances to help ease the transition. Sorry again for being so late to that dinner at Lavendou 20+ years ago ;) Hope I'm allowed to redeem myself with more adult-like punctuality in the...

    Moving to the DMV

Hi folks, been forever since I've been active here, but a few patients may still remember me. My family & I are moving to Bethesda this summer from Dallas, so I'm hoping there is still an active DC-area crew here. I currently have about 20 cases stored off-site here, and will probably need...

A few short notes on some wines in Dallas

Thanks for the company & for taking notes, Jay. A few other wines ... 2011 FX Pichler Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Dürnsteiner Kellerberg was way over-the-top for me, and showed its 14.5% especially when not fully chilled. 1985 Lynch-Bages was flawed, perhaps in multiple ways. 1995 Felsina Rancia...

Makes the guy stuck in the horrible Texas market feel a little better to see wines from my cellar in your highlights.

    vatan clos neore 2012. . .

Totally forgot that was your place, Nathan, have a good friend who eats there often. If you had that wine list in Dallas, you'd have to kick me out of the place pretty often.

NWR: Strangest WLDG flashback I've had in a long time.

Ah, Joe. Guess this is old news after all. Being outside of the coastal groups, I haven't had the privilege of keeping up with everyone as much as I'd like.

NWR: Strangest WLDG flashback I've had in a long time.

His name is mentioned 20 times, and the author clearly means him to be the villain in the narrative. Not that I was a massive fan of Robot Wars, but I certainly watched it occasionally & had no idea that he was involved in it. Especially since its TV run was concurrent with most of my time on WLDG.

NWR: Strangest WLDG flashback I've had in a long time.

Stumbled upon this article today http://www.sbnation.com/longform/2013/6/18/4438250/battlebots-robot-wars-combat-oral-history and was shocked to see a familiar name as the villain of the story. I'm sure many of you know about these tales of Plotnicki, but for me, he's just a character from the...

    More Cellar Time

So awesome to meet everyone & finally put faces with names. The Huet was magical, and I would pay just to smell it again. The Ganevat was eye-opening to a Savagnin n00b. The difference between the 96 & 97 Chaves was pretty striking. And I agree with Jay on the Pousse D'Or, any more oak would...
