One year jeebus

It seems to me that Wine Disorder was created on August 31, last year.

In celebration of its anniversary, I propose that we all drink something random that kinda sorta says WD, then post massively, making it into a Robert Parker Board for a day, only with good taste.

I suggest, but I also have a gun and will shoot people who don't participate.

With love,
Sharon

Not sure what to do here. I think I already went through my entire stock of "Pensee Pendantic Cuvee" Poulsard. What to drink?

Also, I've got to do inventory the next morning. So it will have to be something low in alcohol.

Between you and VLM, the twins will be emotionally scarred for life. I tend not to know what today's date is, finding it more or less irrelevant to my existence (do people still write checks? I no longer know if I have a checkbook?) I will try to focus, though, and pull out something interesting on 8/31. Wait, that's a Monday, innit? Fuck that idea.

That is such a fine idea.

It may vary a bit by time zone--I have a late meeting in PDT on Monday.

But I think there's some Poulsard around.

Shucks, I'll have to wade through my boatloads of purple wine to try and find something acceptable... I dunno... Would a semi-sweet red from Santorini qualify? I guess not... Will keep searching. Where's that damn' clavelin bottle of vin jaune?...

if anyone is interested, i could open the back room at discovery wines for a last minute bday jeebus. i'll throw in a few bottles, some cheeses and everyone else can bring a bottle... say 6 or 7 til whenever...? avenue a and houston, nyc. what say you?

If I were in NY, I'd say "yeah".

I had 2006 Descombes Morgon last night and it was stellar. Took that and 2007 Puzelat Tesnieres rouge to a work cook-out type thing and people went totally ga-ga for both, but especially the Descombes.

Sometimes WD type wine is just delicious, not a political statement at all.

I love the jeebus board, it's so much cooler than the regular board.

Why not your special hipster ros that you made?

I don't think it's proper to do it with one of my own wines - I never comment on them, for better or worse, and I'd like to be able to comment in the case of this jeebus...

INCOMING!

I got my Cowan Cellars email confirming that I will not be sold any wine but that I could drop by and whine until some was poured for me.

OK, send me samples and I'll comment on them.

That would be in keeping with the theme!

I'll try to see if I have one last bottle of the 1993 Boordy Reserve cabernet, the only wine which I worked on as an ass winemaker that might still be kicking.

A cultural exchange program.

That's a pretty good idea, but since we're jeebussing today I can't get you a bottle in time. I hope we can do it sometime in the future.

Unfortunately I'll be running backups all night.
