Chicago on 8/10

Jeeze, there are worse fates.

I won't be there, but at worst you could have a great meal at the bar at avec even if no one signs up.

I mean, it's not Orlando or some such.

If I could, I'd drive up to dine with you, but alas we'll be in NJ then, ironically enough.

Sigh, don't say Alinea. I was staying an extra day in Chicago to go to dinner with friends at Alinea on the 10th. Unfortunately I totally misremembered the date when I made my plane reservations and the dinner at Alinea is on the 11th at which time I'll be back in NJ.

The dinner was going to be on Tuesday at first until we found out Alinea isn't open Tuesday nights which was the original source of my confusion.
 
Damn, if the few days I don't check the Jeebus bored ends up being the time when Jay posts about his Chicago trip. I've been meaning to shoot you an email about when you were going to be here. When do you get in? I'm not sure I could make it way up town on Tuesday, but if you're here tomorrow (Sat) or maybe even Sun night, would love to get a drink. If you're staying downtown, you're more than welcome to swing by our place (we live just off the Grand blue line).

Unfortunately I'm fully booked up through Monday evening. My only free time is the dinner on Tuesday night (since I had reserved it for the dinner at Alinea that is happening on Wednesday).

There are open spaces for the Tuesday dinner if you'd like to attend.
