Belle Glos

Florida Jim

Florida Jim
I have a dear friend of some 30 years.
We have worked together, each made wine (albeit at different times), lived across the street from each other and taken care of each other more often than I can say. He has been and continues to be a joy to have in my life.

Last night he and his wife came over for a physically distanced Christmas Eve pizza night. With wine; none of it remarkable. Even so, a nice evening.
He was kind enough to bring me a gift which I opened today. A bottle of Belle Glos, Pinot with some vineyard designation. He had mentioned that it was well thought of when he gave it to me.

It was not given in jest - he just has a different palate than me. And that he thought I might like it was touching. Inaccurate but touching.
And so today I took it to our physically distanced family Christmas dinner and several people marveled at it’s texture and deliciousness.

Friendship has taught me many things, among them humility.
And something else that has to do with lemonade which, at this moment escapes me.
May you all have such a friend.

Best, jim

Jim, I've never been interested in the wines but judging by what I've read, Belle Glos Pinots must be everything I don't like about many (most?) California Pinots -- way over-blown, just too, too, too. Having said this, Belle Glos does often get rave reviews.

You did well as you recognized your friend's good intentions and reacted graciously.

. . . . . Pete
