It was a very warm year, compared to the 30-year norms, though a little less warm than 2018. Even with the loss of temperature caused by smoke, it was still one of the top 5 hottest Septembers in the West on record.
 
uh, this is not a vintage report about 2020 in the pacific northwest. it is about a specific part of the western oregon wine country. a small percentage of the total production of the pacific northwest is covered by this report. this is like taking a report of the season in the nantais and expecting it give us useful information about the vintage in sancerre. or chinon, et. al.
