2014 SF Stromberg

Recently had a few bottles of 2014 Schäfer-Fröhlich Riesling Stromberg and it is very very good. I cannot claim comprehensive experience with SF or with this vineyard, but this bottling has been perfectly delicious right now. Approachable and open but still firm poised and nuanced. Ripe fruit, but still a nice bitter herbal riesling stalk edge to the flavors. It all works so well.

Last night's bottle was a perfect match with a dorade filled with bärlauch pesto, accompanied by spinach, green and white spargel and basmati rice. These are the moments of contentment.

To me Stromberg needs the longest time of the GGs. Tim did an outstanding job in 2014.

I've been wondering about the future trajectory, in the context of how much more to buy. For my tastes, this is a perfect zone right now. Will see what I decide. Always too many options!
