OK, here we go. Blind I would have guessed an old vine Georges Descombes VV cuvee, probably Fleurie (by the way his wines have disappeared from Seattle, quite sadly). Also picks up some of that VV woodiness in the Lapierre and Foillard cuvees speciales, which I don’t love there, but do here. Also Roilette seems a cousin.
In all ways an excellent Beaujolais, bringing together that gluglu with all sorts of minerally, juicy complex sophistication while staying light on its feet a pretty appealing mix. Gone as fast as the Mme and I ever polish off a bottle. This might be the first wine I’ve had by Yohan and I’m super impressed this is top tier.
