BTW, lest folks fear for our heavy imbibing based on the rate of posting, I am getting caught up from earlier in the vacation.
God, I love French country wines like this, and when they sneak into the US. Cool old school bottle, capsule, pride abounding, and for good reason.
I find Macon-Uchizy to be quite singular, slightly weird, with a hairspray note (if you see the Talmard version it is worth a try to see if you like). Macon is hardly monolithic and I like its nooks and crannies (ie portions of Vire Clesse and the whole botrytis thing they have going by the river).
This - classic Macon-Uchizy, but a step up in complexity from the typical Talmard. Obviously really well made. Bought cheap at Esquin for $13, best wine deal I've had in a while.
Plastique so beware of aging.
