Apparently harvested later and with longer time in barrel than the ‘regular’ Halenberg GG. There is definitely a nice creamy richness in the middle (and apparently more RS), but still very much functions as a ‘dry’ Riesling for me. Lovely golden Riesling stalk with firm rippling drive to the fruit, that mid-palate richness, but all in good proportion, nothing too extravagant.
A very lovely layered wine that I was pleased to purchase (chilled) for 42 euros at the shop down the block, when the planned dinner wine was not showing well. But prices at 80/90 USD make me fear returning to the States, because this is much less exciting at those numbers.
