N/V Tarlant, Champagne Brut Nature Zero - steady bead, crystalline delivery and hints of a future. Still, lovely now.
Served with d’Affinois, Chèvre, crackers and blistered shishito peppers.

2017 Louis Michel, Chablis Grenouilles - off the charts. I know there is more but it doesn’t need to arrive to make me say, holy cats! Precise, concentrated, balanced and long. Grand cru all the way. Spectacular wine.
Served with beet soup.

2005 Dugat-Py, Gevrey-Chambertin Champeaux - expressing the early stages of a wine grown in this terroir; balanced, solid, but a bit clumsy, even with its intensity. Too early to this but good with the food.
Served with cheese soufflé and Romano beans.

2015 Cowan Cellars, Syrah Bennett Valley - roundly enjoyed and better than all but the Grenouilles noted above. Many years to go but I bet it will show well all the way. Excellent with the dish.
Served with blackberry tart.

Best, Jim
