CWD: 2006 C de Noci Querciole

Friday, with mushroom pasta:

Dazed from an ear infection I opened a bottle of white frizzante 2006 C de Noci Querciole, 100% Spergola, instead of something meaty and red. This is damn good wine, sparkling, cloudy and crazy acidic. It's like a light tongue sandpapering, or maybe a cat licking its own tongue. Some honeydew melon way in the back to balance things out. God works in mysterious ways and the wine worked somehow, so the ear infection was a prod in the right direction.

Have no idea what CWD means, and this seems like the best way to find out.

I freakin' adore this winery and would probably choose to drink them every night if I could afford it. The Querciole made me think of beer almost, and had a lovely bitter quality to it that wormed its way into my heart. The still white, Nottediluna, I like even better.

Beer or good cider would a be a good comparison texturally. This is the second time in so many days I have been recommended the Notte di Luna, so it looks like I need to track down a bottle.
