Sometime around 2002, when I was getting interested in wine, the San Francisco Chronicle published a review of Edmunds St. John’s Rocks and Gravel. I don’t remember much about what the reviewer wrote, but whatever it was, it motivated me to seek out a bottle. I found one and, my wife and I really enjoyed it. Thus began our relationship with Steve’s wines.
Tonight we opened up a bottle of 2013 Rocks and Gravel and it sang a complete song, all of the elements working together to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. Sort of like listening to the live version of Janis and Big Brother performing Down on Me. Thanks, Steve!
