2021 Famille Dutraive Beaujolais Lantignié was a master class in how not to make a natural wine: pale, tart, cloudy, devoid of fruit with a nose of VA and funk and enough spritz to raise the specter of secondary fermentation. Tasted blind, I’m guessing Pineau d’Aunis or Poulsard. It had no perceptible Gamay character and is one of the very few Gamays I’ve tasted that flirts with DNPIM status. It went back in the fridge in the vain hope that time might help, but my money is on it getting less appealing.
