My trip to the Marche Aux Vins and Savoie

It's been 8 years since I last went to the Marche Aux Vins in Ampuis. Time for a re-redux.

So, two friends and I spent a few days in the Savoie region and then went to the wine fair. While in Savoie we visited Dom. Finot, Giachino, Ardoisieres, Berthollier, Lupin, and also the spirits makers Dolin and the Peres Chartreux.

I have posted some pictures. (If you want to save yourself a bunch of clicking, try the "Roll" option.)

I have also posted my travelog and TNs here on WD, but, as before, I had to spoof the file extensions so to get them:
right-click over the link
"save as" the file to someplace
go to the file and remove the ".jpg" extension

...and the resulting bunch of bits should be a PDF.

Of course I owe thanks to many people for a wonderful trip but, more than any other, I want to offer an extra-special shout out and deep bow to Wink Lorch.

Nice report, thanks!

Hard to tell from the photos, but it seems the a good number of the wine domaines that used to come to the Marché no longer do? I didn't see Jean-Michel Stephan and Ogier, for example. I did spot Niero. Back in the day, Yaniger turned me onto their wines.

They were both there. Here's the floor plan.

Ogier runs a pop-up restaurant, which we asked for rez but never heard back. I suppose he was able to fill with people more reliable than peripatetic foreigners.
