Austin Jeebus?

Dan Bromberg

Dan Bromberg
In the fifteen (or is it twenty?) years I've been registered here, approximately from the times I had brief interactions with Joe Dressner at tastings in New York, I've never posted any comments, so forgive me if I'm doing so in the wrong place or using the wrong form. Please let me know, for example, if I should provide an email address.

But I’m writing to ask if there are people living in or passing through the Austin, Texas, area who might be interested in getting together to share and discuss food and wine.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Perfectly good place to post. And to come out of the woodworks. (The Jeebus board is even more scarcely viewed than the main page here.) I hope you find some folks in Austin.

Damn! I lived in Austin for 15+ years and wasn't aware of any other disorderlies in the area. Now back in the Northeast, though I get to Austin 2-3x/year to visit friends and to row.

Would be happy to reach out on my next trip through, possibly in mid-October.

And, I, too, mostly don't post, but I learn a great deal. I sorta follow that maxim, "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt."

Thanks for posting, Zachary. I look forward to hearing from you again the next time you pass this way. I should be here for a while yet.

And thanks to you, too, Jayson, for the welcoming words.

You really should use the jeebus boa

Sorry, couldn’t get through that sentence with a straight face

Unfortunately the closest I’ve gotten to Austin is ordering Franklins brisket from goldbelly

And I did get to drink a little with Andrew the one time I went to Austin (for a conference and likely not again in the near future).
