Beychevelle Vertical (and apparently a discussion on the meaning of salad days)

We probably don't want to know. I mean is this the direction we really want this thread to take?

Lets talk ice fishing instead. It's been a pretty solid year so far. How about you?

Are we talking "ice fishing" or actual ice fishing?

Tough to tell which is safer .

btw the guy in Eden's story who ended up with the Selmer did very well if he kept the horn. Mark VI sax prices are still going up!.

Wow.

Wow is right. I last saw him about fifteen years ago. He's most likely moved back to Nebraska and gigging with polka bands at Elks Lodges, throwing in quotes from Parker solos in an effort to stay awake on the bandstand.

-Eden (fortunately, my bass guitars are appreciating at an equally rapid rate as old Selmer horns - heaven forbid that I live long enough to retire but the vintage guitar market crashes in the meantime!!)

Just hang on to that Les Paul with the sunburst finish. If nothing else, you can always hawk it to Bebop Deluxe if times get tough.

Salad Days is also a great song by Young Marble Giants. If anybody remembers them . . .

Best,

You sure it wasn't THE BRUCE? I saw him perform it during the Superior Bowl.

We're spinning. We'll get back to Beychevelle soon enough.

You know, in certain regions of cyberspace discussing "salad spinners" would get the thread moved to the food board.

Would this be Robert the Bruce?

I know they liked to store Bordeaux in those old Scottish castles.

Did he have lots of Beycheville?

Wow.

What kills me are the Balanced Action prices. I used to play an old Balanced Action tenor in high school marching band. It was a school-owned instrument, but it played really well. It would be nice to have it now...

I am away from my notes, but I would mention that a friend had a recent vertical with a bunch of Beychevelle, and that the jump was totally to the upside. Many casual dismissals turned to enthusiastic queries. Although I would add that the representation of recent vintages was poor.
