It's quite misleading. The quote:
Small daily doses of alcohol are the most harmful. There is no amount, however small, which is good for you, said Dominique Maraninchi, INCAs president.
This is belied by the all-cause mortality data that shows a definite benefit. The percentage increases in a small incidence of lip cancer (I wonder how well they controlled for confounding smoking and spirits?) are more than balanced by big declines in cardiovascular death in all the big studies.
Strange stuff.
