Kay Bixler

Kay Bixler
Non-vintage Vin de Table but I assume it is some kind of gently sparkling Muscadet. Sealed with a bottle cap. At first I thought I got ripped off and this was just wine that re-fermented and was given a cute label, but then it turned on the charm. Delicate mousse, chalk and an oxidative warmth loaded with flavor. Great with food and great just to sip and contemplate.

Best,
Kay

This is the same grape as Muscadet, Melon de Bourgogne, but as it has not gone through all of the required AOC processes it cannot be labeled "Muscadet". I've had quite a few of these over the last 5 or 6 years and its lemony effervescence never fails to delight and entertain The current bottling with its bottle cap closure is an improvement over the previous wax cap over cork that had a tendency to "blow its top" if not properly stored.
