2007 Chateau d'Oupia

Some months ago Chris posted on the white d'Oupia (which I have yet to try) and I realized that I hadn't had d'Oupia of any sort in far too long. Since I've always liked it this seemed silly but it took me until this past week to pick up a bottle.

Lovely. Rich dark fruits and minerality. Could be a touch less ripe for my palate maybe but at this price that's really petty quibbling. Delicious.

Thanks, JayJoe made me purchase many, many, cases of d'Oupia and any good PR would help move it. I owe you.

d'Oupia is one of those wines I enjoy drinking every time I have it and yet rarely put in my basket always thinking, "I'll get it the next time". Someone should have given me a swift kick before this to get me out of that particular rut.

You may have had it at Dressner's 25th. It was being poured there.

I agree, btw. Always lovely stuff and a terrific value.

I find it as expressive as it is weighty. Last bottle of 2007, I tasted a distinct Syrah smoldering-herb face, fine textured. If recent past is a guide, I will like it best in a year and for the next two or three. Mm. Brisket. Sausage and white beans.

I went through several bottles lately. Really good. I love the Heretiques as well.
