2007 Heidi Schrck Ried Vogelsang (Burgenland) each pinot blanc, pinot gris, welchriesling and furmint. To me this is totally pinot gris driven in richness and up front fruit profile. The balance is quite nice and there is just enough acidity on the finish to liven it up. Lots of bitterness and smoke on the back end. Decent enough but not worth $30 for me. (screwcap)
2002 Weingut Willi Brndlmayer Pinot Noir Ccile (Kamptal) My first WilliB red. The brownish garnet coloring gave me a bit of a worry thinking it might be over the hill but the mushroomy, forest floor, dried flowers aromas were really nice. Its pretty much fruit deprived yet underneath some bitter leafy greens are remnants of dark cherry. Definitly a strong ferrite core with extremely fined grained tannic finish. Good balance, decent acidity. Not a wow wine but a decent and different expression of pinot.
