2017 Pierre Guillemot Savigny les Beaune Les Jarrons
Crisp clear delicate crunchy berry fruit. I love that profile, but not the most depth. Also not the most integration, so perhaps more is in store for the future.
2017 D’Angerville Volnay Champans
This on the other hand is so rich and plush. I know Champans is typically full, so I should probably not buy the vineyard too often as it is not my favorite profile. But, stepping outside the nitpicky mode, it is a very seductive and layered wine that is attractive and fun and does finish with silky elegance.
2017 Simon Bize Savigny les Beaune Aux Vergelesses
This is an amalgam of the previous two, because the fruit is dark and sexy but the structure is crystal crunchy clear. Opens nicely with air and goes very well with dinner, but will be curious to see the next bottle with more age.
And then a very nice bottle of 2012 Alzinger Steinertal Riesling Smaragd. Evolved into a lovely state of maturity, with a good core fruit and a lovely layered evolved texture. It is not the most mineral/acidic vintage but still has the delicate light Alzinger touch. Also, surprisingly, it is even more delicious, vibrant and integrated on day 2 (which is rare for me).
