Anyone with news on the 2nd release of '02 Huet Petillant - now with bonus tasting note

I remember Joe mentioning that there was going to be a second release of the '02 Petillant that stayed longer on the lees.

Did it come and go and I just missed it? Has it not been released? Not been imported?

Anyone know?

I pulled a bottle of the first release this past week while inventorying and that's what reminded me.

Why would you bother with this post when there is only one person to ask?

How was the bottle you opened?

Just pulled. I'll open it to celebrate when this godawful project at work that has had me working most weekends and evenings for the last 2 months is over.

And until then, nothing but cheap cava?

it was still on the lees last february, it might come with the 08's, that would be in 6 to 8 months...

Thanks Guilhaume!

Ended up opening it last night.

Very good, still developing at a snails pace but several noticeable inches closer to maturity.

I'd be more cautious about running through my case at about 1 every 9 months if I didn't know the second release was on the horizon.

So is the 2001 at Chambers now the extra-long sur lie version? They should have called it Huet Oenotheque so they could charge more.
No, that's the '37.

Sources say the 2nd tranche of 2002 Petillant is moving towards disgorgement this winter.

Sources further confirm that the wine is likely to see some dosage (there was talk earlier of a non-dose version), but a very light one using 2002 Le Mont demi-sec. The earlier release used moelleux from the same source.

Stay tuned to your WD station for further updates.

Fascinating; thanks for the update. Do you know if this will be released in France, or rather for export?

Do you know at how many g/l the previous batch was dosed?

How is the 01 BTW?
I think you'll find notes on it with the search, but it is in line with its vintage. A leaner package than 2002, but attractive.

2002 is crazy good, though.

I wonder what they'll charge for the new release?

2002 is crazy good. I don't know how many bottles I blew through in New York. (Aside from one, too blowsy, picked up in a store of dubious temperature.)

Funnily enough, they are still on 2001 in Paris. Almost had one at Lavinia last week, but opted for something still.

Interesting Loire vintage skew hereabouts, actually. They're still on 2006 Clos Roche Blanche Sauvignon n2 and 2005 Puzelat Brin de Chvre (for which I thank all absent deities, because that is one fine tipple).

Just Lavinia or generally across the city?

My impression was that Lavinia buys so many wines they can't keep everything turning over and up to date.
