CWD: From Spain, very un-purple

It's not often that I can find in this forlorn southwestern corner of Europe something that may please my purist friends in NY (I've stopped using the term 'fundamentalist', since it appears to lead to misunderstandings). Well, yesterday I did find one of those wines that they might like: bac 2008 Cavas Ferret. This is a new wine from a veteran, small, traditional 'cava'-making firm which obviously can't forget its bubbly tradition since this wine is a little spritzy, 'ptillant', with some carbonic gas left in the bottle. A pure xarel-lo, it offers an unexpectedly light, refreshing version of this usually quite structured Catalan white grape - grapefruit, pear, wild roses on the nose, little residual sugar but quite a bit of fruit, just some 12 alcohol, reasonable length, totally gulpable with that nice tingling feel. About 7.50 euros locally.
