TN - '05 Ponsot Chambolle Musigny Charmes 1er

A friend asked me to try this. That is what friends do.

'05 Ponsot Chambolle Musigny Charmes 1er-
Complex nose of ripe red and black fruit and wet stones. The fruit here is quite ripe but well within my ripeness limits. This is quite pure and deliciously broad and generous with lower acidity than many '05s. I like the contrast of ripeness and Chambolle elegance. This is a very tasty '05 Charmes that should drink well for decades. Great stuff.

Nice, I need more friends like that. My friends insist we taste Irouleguy and other unpronounceable appelations.

We tasted the 05 Ponsot Morey St Denis in Denver this summer and it was so good I went out and foolishly bought (only) one case.
Cheers!

At least they're not fobbing Bordeaux off on you. (Shudder.)

And welcome, Michel!

They know better than to fob or foist or force Bordeaux down my gullet (ok, I admit, unless it's really old Bdx - that I can take). And thanks for the welcome, it's good to escape the Board That Shall Not Be Named sometimes.
