2001 von Hvel Oberemmeler Htte Riesling Kabinett
This shows well from the corkpull, golden maturing crisp riesling stalk. Some slight honeyed richness in the middle that is stretching out into its age but mostly this is cool silvery tasty fun tangy and easy to drink. Nothing to meditate over but certainly a fun way to start any festivity.

2006 Patrick Jasmin Cte Rtie
Starts out very grapey and primary and never quite shows all that (I suspect) is here. Nonetheless, after a few hours of air it was well worth my drinking time. Juicy and supple with a fine acid/tannin structure and one has to love all the floral aromas wafting up and out of the wine. Heres hoping for even better showings in the future.

No wood flavors in the Jasmin? That was my only (small) gripe with the 04 drunk a few weeks ago.

Nothing too obtrusive to my palate and I'm usually pretty sensitive to these things. It was definitely young and primary and polished and took a couple of hours to begin to speak of Cte Rtie, but it was all in good proportion and I consider myself relatively oak-intolerant. Not sure about your tolerance in comparison but I imagine there was more fruit in this 06 as opposed to 04.
