Chteau Palmer '78 --
Red that's fading.
Nicely perfumed, sweet tobacco, maybe some herbs and earth, dark cherries/berries.
Soft mouthfeel, tannins largely evolved, nice finesse, light tobacco, round dark fruits.
Pleasing finish that tends to linger nicely.
Drink soon! [E]

Chteau La Mission Haut-Brion '78 --
Dark red.
Classic Claret nose, black fruits, fine cigar box scents, some earthiness.
Complex, powerful but with elegance, solid core of fruits hanging together, big profile.
Excellent length to finish that stays full.
No rush! [E+]

Ultra-fine accompaniments for smoked pork tender.
