So, I'm on my way to NY today, RDU to JFK.

FAA site says that arrivals at JFK delayed an average of 1 hour 54 minutes.

JetBlue has my flight delayed taking off by 35 minutes.

This affects my evening plans, is there any way JetBlue could be correct?

How does the FAA compute the mean anyway?
 
you will probably load, depart the gate 35 minutes late and go park out on the field in RDU somewhere while they wait for a slot into JFK.
