The 93 version of this was delicious a couple of years ago, to the extent that I wondered if his Maranges and Santenay vineyards were in fact the best manifestations of the true passion of this delightful man. It is a great shame that the clos des loyeres had to be sold in the rush for expansion that I always had the feeling was inspired by ambition that was other than his. His heart seems to me in the red wines of the Cote de Beaune.
