Had some nice lamb the last couple of nights (chops were small, planned on cooking all 4 last night but saved 2 for tonight).
Yesterday's wine was the 1996 Jadot Savigny 1er Clos des Gouttes. Drinking very well. Great core of cherry fruit wrapped with minerals and sous bois. The price tag said 14.95. Those were the days.
Tonight's wine was the 1998 Niedermayr Lagrein Aus Gries Blacadelle. Less expressive than the last bottle I had (4? years ago), yet clearly not over the hill. Seems to be shut down some but still tasty. Will not try another for probably 3-4 more years.
