Talk of Eric Rohmer has prompted me to come out of the woodwork. (Yes, I was hidden in the woodwork. Yes, I was.)
Rohmer is in my top tiny tier of favorite film directors ever. The only film of his I don't like is "La Collectionneuse." Otherwise, have at thee.
It pains me to see him considered a "talky," somehow difficult director. We're not talking late-period Godard, here! There is so much humor and humanity in Rohmer's films, so much story, that one always delights.
Plus, Fabrice Lucchini is a windfall for any director.
