it's made up for by being able to drink his perfectly in condition bottle of '02 Palari Rosso del Soprano

I didn't try to hard to correct his assumptions, and he left with a perfectly appropriate bottle of moderately spoofy Rosso di Montalcino. We're both happier.

Ahh yes, I remember how we enjoyed those bottles when I was in the restaurant biz. Fairly big restaurant with a high proportion of "special occasion" diners, we'd get a perfectly good bottle sent back for theatrical reasons pretty frequently.
