Anyone tried this 1989 Pinon Moelleux?

The 1989 Franois Pinon "Premire Trie" Vouvray Moelleux will be available for $46. Anyone tried it? I'm broke and have no storage space, so I want to make sure it's tasty before I buy it.

Steve,

I tried this about 6 weeks ago and enjoyed the wine very much.
Fabulous balance, elegant, classic Vouvray flavors, sense of restraint, medium plus on the sweetness scale (we tried it next to the '95 Cuvee Constance so take it for what its worth).

Anyway I thought it was very high quality and well worth the $60 I paid.

Thanks, much. I'm there.
Thank God for these library releases. This isn't much more than a current vintage of a decent Sauternes.

It's not like Sauternes at all. More like Spatlese or Auslese.

I'll second Marc's enthusiasm as I enjoyed (I think) that bottle with him. Really classy wine. Came off more as a demi-sec than moelleux or perhaps it just carried its sweetness weightlessly.
Definitely a buy at $46, thats about what it wholesales for here. Reminds me, I've been meaning to pick up one...

Food pairings?
Well, it wasn't something thought out in advance, but I was nibbling on roasted fingerling potatoes, and some various cheeses at the time. Worked pretty well.

Next bottle I'm going to open will be after the pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving.
