TN: '09 Christian Ducroux Regnie

Really high-toned red fruit nose with lots of earth, spice and mineral. Voluminous, if a bit broad, yet pure. Only open 20 minutes. The palate is a rockstar. Juicy, incredibly vibrant, purity of fruit is fantastic. Pretty structured and lighter fruit than the Descombes version. Acid is pointed, ripe, and present. Fruit is sappy on the finish but the tannins clamp down pretty quickly. If that finish fleshes out this is gonna be really something. This is really packed and needs a bit of a breath. It's all there, it just needs to come together. Seems to be a trend with some '09 Beaujolais. Major decanting needed as the structure is just tremendous. Eager to follow.

This really came together on day 2. Beautiful purity of fruit, fine structure. Vin de Garde Regnie. I'll be cellaring more.
