He's too modest/shy/private to tell you, but Rahsaan is now a dad! His wife, Gesche, gave birth Saturday night to a healthy baby boy. In honor of Rahsaan's passion, they have named him Mosel Morgon Muscadet Maxwell!

ok, maybe that's Nicholas Oscar Wrfel-Maxwell. A girl can dream, can't she?

No chance to really open anything celebratory yet. Just a ripe dark and tannic 2003 Gouges Clos des Porrets. Not exactly what most people would choose to toast their newborn, but it was the bottle I literally had in my hand to open when my wife informed me we needed to go to the hospital.

So two days later I got around to it.
 
Had some passable Kiwi stuff under screwcap recently. Usual suspects, and I suspect optimal drinking window will close before your son is of legal drinking age.

Congratulations! Yours is the third baby born this weekend to friends around the country.

BTW, that 03 Gouges Blanc isn't such a bad wine. It's probably my favorite French white from the vintage.
