From his regular bottling, not the vieilles vignes. This was great. A pure and inviting nose. Nice minerality with bright fruit and a hint of licorice. Earthy and floral, this is quite complex. Balanced, delicious with good acidity. There's also a slight green touch ( reminded me of green peas).
Definitely Beaujolais and this is good!
I need more...
 
Drinking this right now and agree with everything written above. Wasn't expecting to like this as much as I do. Miles better the '08 bottling. Simply beautiful. I also need to get more now.
 
The recent notes on these wines have encouraged me to try these wines from a different source, perhaps lacking the shipping/storage issues mine had.

I got a text this morning from a friend who was surprised I liked the wine so much as the bottle he had had was 'uninspiring'. He wondered if I had bought it at the same place, but I hadn't. Storage or just general bottle variation may be playing a heavy hand.

Dunno if you remember, but the bottle of the B-V that I recently opened was quite Bretty, though others' (most notably Mr. Dressner's) experiences have differed.

Very good, but didn't reach fab for me, unless I am misunderstanding fab.
 
I don't know, VLM. I tasted some cru Beaujolais yesterday, and it was illustrative to see qualitative differences, like a jagged set of jack o' lantern teeth. This was a big, square tooth after Descombes's small pointy tooth of a Chiroubles of the same vintage.

She said, all scientifical-like
 
I had a pair of these from Chambers, each was a terrible Brett-explosion, made all the worse by the obviously amazing raspberry-laden fruit hiding beneath. Still, we're talking sharp, offensive brett here. I would love to try this wine in an unaffected form, as I could see the quality within, but could not reach it.

I was not thrilled either, but at the same time what I tasted was in perfect condition.

It's all about where you draw the line in 2009, and mine lies a little closer to the more structured, less jammy side.
