Interesting wines recently shared

2004 Domaine de Belliviere, Coteau du Loire Rouge Gorge
100% Pineau d'Aunis. Quite dark, slowly starting to show some maturity on the rim. Nose is quite vegetal with roots (celery, carrots). Very strict. After 3 days, fruit finally show up: intense strawberry wtih dark cherry giving you a glimpse of its potential. There's also a nice light licorice note. Tannins are quite firm, helping the wine's structure.
This was definitely better with a lot of air and food is mandatory here. I'd like to try another vintage than 2004.
Interesting for sure.
Anyone here tried other vintages?

2009 Michel Delhommeau, cuvee St Vincent, Muscadet
Spicy mineral pear with citrus. Hint of orange and some exotic fruit. A touch of yeast. With air, the minerality fades and the exotic fruits become more apparent. Definitely ripe, especially for Muscadet.
None of the blind tasters recognised muscadet and some even went to Languedoc or CdP..... hum...

1989 R. Lpez de Heredia Rioja Reserva Via Tondonia
I always have a hard time describing this wine but this was another typical Tondonia. Showing some light oxidation, nutty with orange and was. Quite fat, maybe lacking some acidity. Long finish. Got better during dinner.

2001 Vieux Telegraphe, CdP, Blanc
Drunk along the Lopez and this was interesting as the 2 wines were showing some similarities: light oxidation, almost oily texture. Started very sharp and angular and this is in need of a lot air. Quite classic without the exotic touch that you now find in many of the white CdP. Maybe this is just not ready yet..?

Had a 2007 Rouge Gorge in July of 2009 (sounds pretty different from your 04):

2007 Domaine de Bellivire Rouge-Gorge Coteaux du Loir 13.5%
Lovely aromas of church spices and sour cherry. Good acidity, surprisingly grippy tannins, combining into a dusty but pleasurable astringency before food. Alcohol well integrated, good body, good acid/sweet balance after food. The rich young fruit is very reminiscent of Morgon gamay, which this resembles, except for the tannins. Very fine. This should be wonderful in 3 to 5 years.

Cool, thanks Oswaldo. It sounds indeed quite different except for the tannins and the alcohol (the 04 was 14% but pretty well integrated as well).
I'll look for the 07.
