Gordon & MacPhail Glen Grant Highland Malt Scotch, distilled 1965, bottled 2004 (39 yr), 40% abv: Pale caramel color..aroma of slight smoke and a creme caramel... honey/honeysuckle initially then a candied apple with burnt caramel with a hint of soft charred wood... flavors of pear, apple and walnuts come and go..not much peat character... very smooth and almost soft finish... worth the wait!!

TASTING NOTE
Colour:Intense sherry and grapey aromas, prunes and figs. A
hint of treacle toffee.
Smoke and spices - cloves and ginger, followed by
sherry wood. A delicate fresh fruit - green apple finish.
Oaky with perfumed, floral notes. Sherry wood and a
smoky, ash like aroma.
Smoky with dry grass and gorse flavours, spicy with an
oily note. Sherry notes begin to emerge.
Mellow.
Clean - a little sherry and peat smoke.

Rich and aromatic - a cigar malt?
