And now back to our regular programming. A spate of positive 03 Burg sightings here recently made me want to open this. Pleasant cherry aromas with a metallic edge and a hint of oak. Succulent, but showing more brawn than finesse, as befits the breed standard. No actual oak flavor, but a "sensation" of wood, like a component of structure. Slightly hot, but good acid/sweet balance, with a too-vibrant acidity that might be a bit unnatural. Though there was nothing particularly wrong with this bottle, it gave little pleasure, beyond fulfilling a certain sense of correctness.
