During our Loire jamboree the one visit we had to cancel because of strike related mayhem was photographer turned vigeron Emile Héredia, so I picked up a bottle of this in NY to sample a bit of what we had missed. From centenarian ungrafted pineau d'aunis vines. Aroma is deep and lovely raspberry and spices. Vibrant acidity, slight CO2 spritz, gorgeous fruit, excellent balance. Vanished in the blink of a shutter. Totally delicious; one to seek out.
