I found a six of each of these:
2005 Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale- Hops have mellowed. Maybe integrated? A nice maltiness with a lingering touch of bitterness. some bourbon like taste on the finish. Really nice. This has aged well.
2006 Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale- Hoppier and not as complex as the 2005. Nice bitterness. Not on par with the 2005.
Both worked well with pulled pork my parents brought up from allen and sons in chapel hill, nc.
1999 Ar Pe Pe Riserva Grumello Buon Consiglio- Pretty shy on opening so i decanted and left it alone for a couple hours. Bricky brownish red. Lovely classic nebbiolo on the nose; subtle aromas of tar, roses, and licorice. Also, fennel and some lovely forest floor scents of pine needles and fallen leaves. Really gorgeous. Nice mid weight mouthfeel. Some licorice and soft tannins. A terrific wine. One bottle you just dont want to ever finish.
Good with pan seared duck breasts. Better (suprisingly) with butter braised brussel sprouts.
I was enjoying my last glass of this when the Peas came on the Super Bowl half time show. What a buzz kill.
2002 Francois Cazin Cour-Cheverny Cuvee Renaissance. Fantastic stuff. I love this wine. Great with simply grilled chicken and an arugula sald. Didn't take any notes.
2008 Jacky Blot Domaine de La Butte Bourguiel La Pied de la Butte- This is delicious. Cherry, a little green pepper, a touch of bitter and some tannin give it nice structure. Tingling acidity. I like this a lot. Good with Poulet au pot and winter vegetables.
