Hope to see you kids at today's LDM Fest

Joe Dressner

Joe Dressner
37 growers, good wine, charity and Jeff Grossman!

I have been hiding in the cancer ward since November but will be coming out today to meet everyone.

Hope to see you before I collapse this afternoon.

Hi Joe,

I'm sorry that the tour doesn't stop in Seattle this year, and we will miss seeing you and the growers. We have been very fortunate in the past to get to partake in this event. I am grateful for the opportunity you have provided to meet the vignerons responsible for bringing so much pleasure to my table.

Some of the local gang are getting together tonight for dinner, and we will raise a glass in your honor.

Best wishes,
Marc D

I'll be placing your wines in the hands of suburbanites in the
hinterlands of the Garden State. I hope you have a fabulous time!
Best,
John

I took JBL, Hoke, Mark Anisman along with me to taste what turned out to be a plethora of good wines. The highlight of the day was my time spent chatting with your charming wife. I had no idea that she would be there and it was my favorite time spent at the tasting. A well attended, well run, special event.

Jeez, I managed to talk with JBL, Hoke, Mark, and Denyse (and saw Julius but didn't talk with him) as well as sampling some more than passable wine, but didn't spot Lou. We missed you, Joe. Hope all went well at CSW today.

A lotta great stuff, too several to mention, many not tried (the heat and madding crowd at some point became simply too much).

The wine that wowed me the most was the 2009 Peillot Roussette Bugey Altesse. Dang! Complete.

The table with Eric and Virginie won the Oscar for top table. Organic candor and biodynamic charm. Skilled winemaking struggling with hot climates.

Marc Ollivier and Evelyne de Jessey shared the Oscar for top flawless double whammys. Paradigms in their respective appelations, both.

Arianna seemed a bit glum. Maybe because she didn't have her brightest offspring in tow, the Frappatto and the Nero d'Avola Siccagno.

Sucked that distribution politics kept Luca Roagna away.

The two Herve Villemade reds won the Oscars for the most brett and for the most brett that a winemaker doesn't mind the public consuming right under his nose. Below the poop, some good juice seemed to lurk.

09 Desvignes Cote du Py won the Oscar for first Desvignes that you don't have to wait five years to enjoy. Fantastic.

The Mosse and Cazin whites kicked ass, as usual. Jakot remains my favorite Radikon.

Looking back, nearly all the wines that zinged the sweet & sour spot were white. Surprising. Today, white was the new red.

Not pink and red from Baudry?

Baudry was always mobbed and I had tried the lineup in October, so committed the absurd luxury of passing. But loved the Croix Boissee white at the winery. BTW, Salil said that, according to Matthieu, there won't be any Franc de Pied in 2010.

Oswaldo! I presume you refer to La Voute Saint-Vincent.

I always thought there was something funny about me. Turns out I may be brett insensitive.

It might be that the pink is best.

When last year's was on, it was beautiful -- but it was the most temperamental Baudry I've yet encountered.

and not a word about infantado? I must have gone to a different tasting.
